"There are a number of reasons as to why this stereotypical view of Christians is so prevalent in society today. Popular media, for example, reinforces it relentlessly in the form of Ned Flanders on “The Simpsons” or the many “Family Guy” gags that either make fun of Christians or Jesus himself."
- John Adams, the Daily Skiff
I strongly agree with this man, but I have more to add. I believe that TV shows do portray Christians badly, but I think it may be all some of them know. For those who are not Christians or do not have Christian friends, the only examples of Christians they have is on the news. Now, most of the time, the news only shows the BAD stories; mistakes or problems in the Church. ( Most recently the burning of the Quran thing- http://tripolipost.com/articledetail.asp?c=1&i=4905) I think that this is all some people hear about, so when other Christians try to start Evangelical work or tried to be portrayed correctly it is very hard because of Christian stereotypes.
PLEASE feel free to comment or know what you think. I am very curious as to what your opinions are on this subject:)
